Rystad Energy

Making complex energy information easier to navigate, understand, and use.

Designing for a specialist B2B audience requires balancing complex data, sophisticated workflows, and intuitive user experiences.

At Rystad Energy, I was responsible for the complete UX/UI design overhaul of the company’s flagship product, the Client Portal, as well as its primary education platform, the Learning Center. My work focused on transforming complex digital experiences into intuitive, accessible, and user-centered solutions through research, design, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Complex products. Real user needs.

Energy-data platforms bring together specialist information, analytical tools, dashboards, and workflows. The UX challenge is to help users find what they need, interpret information with confidence, and move efficiently from exploration to action.

My focus is on reducing unnecessary friction without oversimplifying the capabilities expert users depend on.

01Clarity

Make dense information easier to scan and navigate.

02Continuity

Support journeys across features and touchpoints.

03Evidence

Use research and behavior data to guide priorities.

Connecting research, design, and measurement.

My role brings together user-centered design, practical product delivery, and behavioral analytics. I work across discovery and implementation, collaborating with colleagues to translate complex requirements into usable experiences.

Work with developers, stakeholders, and client-facing teams to make solutions actionable.

Practical challenges, focused UX thinking.

These examples describe the kinds of problems I have worked on. They focus on methods and design intent rather than confidential interfaces or undisclosed business results.

01DISCOVERY & ADOPTION

Making saved content easier to return to

Investigating why saving and bookmarking capabilities may be underused, using behavioral data, stakeholder input, and targeted research questions to identify friction and opportunities for a more discoverable experience.

Start with the problem. Learn from the evidence.

I use an iterative process rather than a fixed sequence: understand the user and business context, define a focused challenge, explore design options, test assumptions, and use available evidence to decide what to improve next.

The process loops back as new insights emerge.

The thinking behind the work.

Because this work takes place in a commercial enterprise environment, I have intentionally not included proprietary product screens, customer information, internal research artifacts, or confidential performance metrics.

This overview highlights my responsibilities, design approach, and representative initiatives. It does not claim quantified outcomes or imply that every concept described has been released.
